Hello! I’m Jess I’ve been autocrossing both stock and fully prepared MINI Coopers and Miatas since 2005, and until last year, the MINI was the largest car I’d ever owned. It made it through rear-facing car seats, infants, spilled milk, muddy dog paws, broken track days, trips up Mount Washington, and more.
It did not survive teenagers - a bigger car was needed.
Enter the Subaru Crosstrek, the last of the small SUVs still available in manual transmission. I discovered the wonderful world of trails and soft-roading, and state parks yet to be explored. Apparently, I’m attracted to cars that come with subcultures - and friends.
I live near the beach in Charlestown, RI. We tend to summer pretty hard out here, and now I have a car that can play in winter, too. I have years of experience planning runs and rallies with various MINI clubs and can’t wait to plan some excursions with you all in my Subaru.
You can find me on the SNE Facebook group, on Twitter and Instagram @NerdGirlJess, out gigging with my band The Strattones, or co-hosting my motorsports podcast, Shifting Points Podcast.
PS - I’m one of those people that loves it when a drive ends with food.
